ARE ROMAN BLINDS STILL POPULAR?

In a word: YES!! At More Than Curtains we suggest that at least 15% of our custom work is for Roman blinds. This group of blinds are decorative as they allow virtually limitless options in terms of fabric choices. They are simple to operate and safe for children. They work very well on small windows; Although they have a maximum width of about 3 metres on larger windows. Roman blinds can also be motorised.
There are a few different styles of romans. Generally the most popular style is where it finishes straight. However, a swag base can be added for a bit of drama or tradition. Timber battens can give a more Scandinavian appearance.
Choosing to line or not will certainly change the overall look and function of a roman blind. If unlined, the blind will tend to sag, giving it a “floaty” quality. Blockout lining of course provides light control, but also thermal benefits. They can even be interlined with bumph for areas such as home theatres to give an improved acoustic ambience.
Why not team up romans with matching curtains for a great look!!!
