4 INNOVATIONS FOUND AT R+T STUTTGART
R+T Stuttgart 2018 was an expo to a scale we’ve never seen before! Ten halls packed with technologies for blinds, curtains, shutters, awnings, doors, roller shutters and more! We spent hours and hours looking at new products, styles and innovations, and wanted to share a few things we noticed.
BLIND INNOVATIONS
Of all the products on offer, roller blinds certainly seemed to rule the event. We did notice however, that Venetian blinds seem to be making a huge comeback within the industry, with some stunning styles available. Pleated shades are also emerging as a trend, in every colour imaginable!
NOT SO WHITE
While white is still our top selling colour, it was in short supply at R+T, with charcoal and black taking the lead. We also noticed a lot of bold colours in unexpected places like pleated shades and Venetian Blinds. We also saw plenty of vertical blinds with mural-style designs.
WIFI BLINDS
Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could just ask Siri to lower your blinds? That’s where motorization technology is headed! We are still a little sceptical though, because the wifi went down as we were trying them out, and the blinds were stuck in place… Hopefully, by the time this technology reaches us, some of the kinks will be ironed out.
OUTDOOR STUFF
For us Aussies who love the great outdoors, R+T had it all! From motorised awnings to umbrellas with lighting and heating!
