CURTAINS FOR TALL WINDOWS

Modern homes are being built to maximise natural light, which means large windows which sometimes span two storeys. The question is, How do you dress these tall windows? We’ve become quite well-known for designing spectacular curtains for these windows, so we’re sharing our tips for choosing curtains for tall windows.

HOW WILL THEY LOOK?

Extra tall curtains will inevitably become a feature within the room, regardless of how you dress them. But what do you want them to say? Effortless chic? Whimsical? Glamourous? Knowing this will help when it comes to choosing fabrics.

HOW WILL THEY OPERATE?

Hand-drawn curtains will always be a little more tricky to operate at great heights. We usually recommend s-fold curtains on tall windows as the tracking mechanisms operate with only a light touch. We also add custom cords to assist in the operation.

An excellent alternative is motorisation. At the press of a button, your curtains can open or close as you please. Check out our motorisation page for more information.

INSTALLING CURTAINS ON TALL WINDOWS

It can be a little tricky to install curtains on tall windows, and the tools required vary from window to window. Scaffolding is needed for windows taller the 5 metres, and for windows with no wallspace to lean a ladder on. We must always be careful on these installations to ensure the safety of our installers and you’re household.

ARE CURTAINS FOR TALL WINDOWS EXPENSIVE?

We’re not gonna lie; this won’t be a cheap exercise. Designing, making and installing curtains this large is highly specialised and involves a lot of risk. You’ll end up paying more for these curtains, but the spectacular results and quality workmanship make it worth the investment.
